Primarily based in Luton, Bedfordshire, AM Philpot (Hard Chrome) Ltd employ 19 staff and undertake a range of engineering services including hard chrome plating and CNC grinding.

A significant amount of our work involves the reclamation of used and worn parts such as machine spindles and hydraulic cylinders. Our hands on and dynamic structure allows us to handle jobs that other larger companies might turn away.

We have also developed a specialist division within the company to supply mechanical parts for the canning industry including spindles, rollers and axles as well as inking components. These canning machines are the type used to press and print beer cans.

The company also operates a successful motorbike fork rechroming service which serves both the UK and overseas markets and currently processes over 120 pairs of forks each month. You can read more about the motorbike fork side of the company here.

Whilst the main engineering facility is based in Luton, the company operates a plasma, ceramic and metal spraying division based outside of Milton Keynes in Bletchley. This is an operation that works very well with the grinding services offered.

We have an extensive customer base including food, marine, packaging, hydraulic, motor sport and canning industries etc. Whether it is the reclamation of a worn part or a durable coating being applied to a new component, Philpots are able to offer a comprehensive service to overcome many of the problems associated with sliding or rotating machine parts.
